Nasscom 2003 to be held in Mumbai between Feb 11-14

Nasscom's annual international IT conference, Nasscom 2003, would be held in Mumbai between February 11 and 14, 2003. Several industry visionaries and

delegates from India and overseas would converge at the conference to discuss and debate strategies on "Leveraging knowledge capital for enabling

growth", which is the theme of the event.

Nasscom 2003 would be a multi-track conference and would have focused sessions on: Country workshops, Vertical market opportunities, CIO round

table on healthcare and insurance, BPO Sector and HR Workshop and Embedded software. 

One of its unique features would be the 'Country Perspective Forum' on February 12 and 13, 2003. Senior speakers from

India's target markets like UK, Italy, Canada, Malaysia, Wales, Germany, Singapore and some other

emerging economies would address the Country Perspective Forum @ Nasscom 2003. Each country representative would make presentations that

would focus on ICT market scenario in their country, provide guidelines for doing

business, focus on the market dynamics by way of presenting case studies and will address issues of visa/work permits. The country representatives would

also provide inputs on market access strategies. 

Nasscom's annual IT conference would host Don Tapscott, International Consultant and Speaker on business strategy and

organizational transformation and Paul Saffo, Director and Roy Amara Fellow, Institute for

the Future.

At Nasscom 2003, Tapscott would talk about how the current gloom and doom regarding technology and technology markets

is not correct and how companies can devise strategies for "Winning in the New IT Marketplace" and "Competing

in the Age of Hypercapitalism". 

Saffo would talk about the impact of technological innovation on every aspect of business and society in the coming decades.

He would also speak about how at first glance, this coming wave of innovation seems to defy

anticipation, much less meaningful assessment of its likely impacts, however simple rules can help make sense of what is in store, for entrepreneur and

technology user alike. He would also explore the most promising areas of technology innovation in the next decade and would

outline a selection of surprises to watch for.
