“Patience is key to leadership”: Bhavik Jhaveri

Rapid fire with Bhavik Jhaveri, Founder of Pretr & AmBab

Belong to place: Mumbai

Studied at: PCT COE – Mumbai University

Company: Ambab Infotech PVt. Ltd/Pretr Online Services Pvt Ltd

What is your ideal day: Monday – It’s a day with boiling ideas and energy that we conserve over weekend.

What drives me the most: People! People in Ambab, people who are our clients, stake holders, our competitors, people who love us, people who hate us.  I love to say that we have grown from 8 to 200 or we have grown from 0 to 100 accounts in just 3 years. We love when our work brings smile on our people.

What are the most important three things in my life: My Self, My Team, My Family

Favorite Gadget:  My Phone – iPhone 6s

Favorite food: Mexican and Gujrati

Favorite holiday destination: Domestic: Kashmir; International: South Africa

What are things I like to do alone: Read, Write and Think

Last book I read: The hard things about hard things by Ben Horowitz

If I could eliminate one thing from daily schedule, what would it be and why: My Phone. I think while its efficient, its equally addictive.

Which letter of the alphabet describes me best, how?A, B – AmBab (Ankur my Co-founder / Bhavik is me), But more importantly I love to assess constantly and A/B testing stands for constantly weighing all options before deciding. To me, it also signifies No.1 or No. 2

Most memorable Event: My 1st job interview at EBS, which was also my 1st Job. I was asked about payment gateway and I had answered Network Gateway. I strongly believe life is all about taking chances, the importance work is not in what you do its all about what you make out of what you do.

One thing I like to change in myself:  Everything! Learn, Measure, Grow.

I never get tired of: Anything. I think patience is key to leadership. The only way to be radical is to persist.

5 years down the line I would be: Bhavik.

If not in IT industry, I would be: An actor!  As an entrepreneur, I play multiple roles & I am good at it.

Advice to budding Entrepreneurs: Idea is a good starting point. Execution is everything. There is no shortcut to success and capital (funding) is just a business resource and not the goal for business. Build businesses to sustain and create life time opportunities, team and strengths. Be high on commitment. Be trusted. Be persistent. Keep learning. Curiosity is the mother of inventions and not the needs!

What’s my motto in life: Empower ideas. To empower people!
