PCS Industries Ltd (PCS), dealing in hardware ranging from desktops to notebooks, high-end servers to networking products, support services for software and hardware, data processing and manufacture of copper clad laminates, wants to make a mark in the SOHO segment. In the price-conscious market, PCS has come out with two models, which at entry level, cost less that Rs 30,000.

The two models are based on two different chips. While one is Celeron-based, the other is P III. Both the models are Internet ready. These machines would be made available through more than 250 countrywide channel partners of PCS. The premium range models are being planned to be launched after the festive season.

PCS has plans to open retail outlets in class A cities to cater to the growing demand from the SOHO segment. "SOHO segment is growing at a tremendous pace and PCS wanted to be there in the potentially high-growth area," says Arun Bhattacharya, Country Manger, Channels. According to Arun, now the main focus of the company would be on channels, which was not a very focused activity in the recent past.
