Indian R&D Center had envisioned migrating to cloud for better centralized IT management and effective data protection alongside providing efficient IT support to its employees. The India center has successfully transitioned 2,500 R&D employees to the Desktop cloud.

Huawei Desktop cloud offers a number of advantages such as ensuring a secure office environment with unified data processing without having to worry about data leaks as well as a mobile office feature enabling easy data access. The Desktop cloud solution offers a no-noise, low-radiation and healthy work environment to its employees. This move has helped in cutting IT costs while improving efficiency and accessibility and has also assured a secure and reliable data storage system. The Cloud Desktop environment has been able to reduce overall expenses by 88% as compared to the traditional Desktop computer and has improved the equipment replacement frequency from 3 years in a traditional desktop computer to more than 10 years in present Desktop cloud solution.

"There is no greater testimony to the usability and profitability of IT infrastructure than an organization implementing its own solution. We are proud to deploy the Desktop Cloud solution to our own R&D Center, delivering superior computing power along with the option of enhanced mobility for the R&D employees. Enhanced efficiency, minimal employee relocation and increased productivity are of immense importance in an environment where productivity and profitability is driven by an effective IT architecture. With a significant reduction in investment with respect to equipment, energy consumption and office applications, along with overall reduction in the cost of operation and maintenance, we see the cloud computing platform as a key contributor to the maximized productivity of the R&D center employees," said Suresh Reddy, VP, Huawei Enterprise,India.

Huawei's cloud computing platform is also being used by external customers. Around 130,000 users across 30 countries are using cloud in a variety of sectors, including government, healthcare, education, telecommunications, and finance.
