In this unique segment of DQ Channels, we have covered the Cloud journey of Futurenet Technologies being a Cloud Partner from a traditional Channel partner. L Ashok, Managing Director shared his entire journey about how his organisation has moved to the cloud business, challenges, growth, and future vision.

When and how did you move to Cloud business?

Futurenet Technologies was established in 1996 to focus on IT services. We moved to the cloud business in 2015-16 when we found our clients were showing interest in moving to the cloud.

What are the different Cloud services do you offer?

We have different cloud offering for our customers that includes, cloud migration and assessment services, lift shift services to the cloud, cloud infrastructure management (Monitor, Maintain and Mend), DR on the cloud, cloud backup services and VAPT.

What sort of changes have you done to move to the cloud within the organization in terms of Team, skill set, infrastructure, and others?

We have a team of 120 of which we have a team of 20 certified cloud solution architects. We give them AWS certificates to enhance their skillsets and learn more about the cloud to give the best services to our clients.

How are your old and new customers adopting the new technology and moving to the cloud?

There has been a more shift towards the cloud in the recent past since the pandemic has started. Work from home culture became imperative for organizations to ensure business continuity. That has changed the mindset of a lot of our customers adopting the new technology and moving to the cloud.

What are the different challenges a partner faces during transforming into the cloud business?

There are many challenges we faced like apprehensions about data security, cost implications and uncertainty in billing/ usage, user acceptance, apprehensions about connectivity (latency) and many more.

What is your overall growth being a cloud partner?

We have been able to achieve a 30 percent growth after moving to the cloud business.

What are your future goals?

Our future goal is to increase our cloud footprint across geographies to become a leading cloud hosting services provider. We have successfully achieved lots of projects in the US and Europe and we would continue to target these regions in the future.
